º Lumbini, where Buddha was born, is a very sacred place. It is located near the town of Kapilavastu, in southern Nepal. An atmosphere of peacefulness surrounds the area. Pilgrims travel to Lumbini, to connect to Buddha Shakyamuni and receive blessings. Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche asked Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche to to build a monastery at Lumbini. It will be called Pal Thubten Shedrub Ling. The Nepali government has donated enough land for a big monastery.

Architectural drawing of Pal Thubten Shedrub Ling.

Pal Thubten Shedrub Ling, the new monastery & temple, will have a large, beautiful shrine hall. Three 25-foot high statues will represent Buddhas of the past, present and future. One thousand 18-inch high statues will represent all the Buddhas of our fortunate eon.

Images of Buddhas inspire people, allow practitioners to create merit (by bowing, making offerings, praying, etc) and generate positive energy to purify the negativity in our world. One thousand Buddha statues in holy Lumbini will create immense blessings.

Lumbini Buddha Statues are very finely made. The master image is sculpted in the style of historic Nalanda in India. Statues are first cast and hand-carved by a family of traditional statue-makers in Thailand, then gold-plated and hand-painted in Nepal. Each statue is 18 inches high, and weighs 13 kilos.
